New York City
Chrysler Building
Taken from the Empire State Building. The Chysler Building pre-dates the Empire State by only a year and was in a race with the Bank of Manhattan to take the crown for the tallest in the world. Nearing the end of build, it looked like the Chrysler had fallen some 50 metres short of its rival but had secretly been building its magnificent Art-Deco spire inside the tower. A week after the Bank of Manhattan had downed tools, the Car manufacturer pushed the spire up and took the crown... albeit for only a year!
